eter·nal adjective
There should be comfort in the knowledge of the Lord’s eternal standing. From everlasting to everlasting, He stands in authority and justice.
Humans are fallible. We fail and fail, and then try to point fingers and twist justice and judgment. We forget our beginning and think we can defeat our ends. Humans dismiss the Creator for the created and think their methods and means reign absolute. Forget the supremacy of a God- creator, man is the ultimate king.
Christians need to stop wading around the pool of thoughts brought forth by the cultural idea of the self being is divine and has control over the universe’s ultimate destination. We need to decide if we are truly the definition of our Christian identity, or if we are playing on both sides of the fence.
If we would like to fine-tune our ultimate truth in faith, getting back to the basics and holding stead-fast to them is of utmost importance. Simplicity sometimes seems above us and we thumb our noses, but God did not make His truth complicated nor confusing hence His Word commanding His followers to let the children come to Him.
Knowing Him on all levels will deepen our knowledge and widen our capabilities to defend our faith and share the Gospel. Thinking about the eternal meaning of His name should inspire us in knowing that our Father God is also steadfast and true forever. He is unwavering in justice and abounding in mercy. Why would a true follower not want to live out life with this awareness and to share with others?
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14
