The Lord Will Right Our Hearts

Stuck in a rut?

Maybe you’re stuck in a pit? Hopeless bound and weighted down, you are grabbing at anything to get pulled out. You’re tired, weary, and just done with this life’s bombardment of disappointments, expectations, defeats, politics, and captivity to society’s manipulative mindset.

But with all things, and throughout all times, the Lord remains constant. Again and again He stands firm in His promises. To the exiles, the wanderers, and the hopeless, He calls them, lifts them and cleanses them of iniquity.

Deuteronomy 30: 1-5

And when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God has driven you, and return to the Lord your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your soul,  then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the Lord your God has scattered you.  If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there he will take you.  And the Lord your God will bring you into the land that your fathers possessed, that you may possess it. And he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers.

He has been calling His people all along. These promises aren’t only given once, but they stand as a reminder to all who have lost their way. His Word is here to teach, guide, converse, and remind us of His sovereign grace.

And the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

As we try to right our hearts, we see that our heads and outsiders try to conflict with truth. Allow the Lord in as you refocus. Ask Him to set the course for you. He will never steer you wrong, will never forsake you, and will always be with you.

As The Word states truth, don’t rely on your own understanding, but rely on Him. He will set your path before your feet and hold you steady.

  1. There is nothing hopeless here,
even though I am sore dying.
    So don’t go crying in your beer;
chin up, and keep on trying.
Remember the frog fell into the milk,
    that determined little nutter!
He escaped (such his defiant ilk),
    legs churning it into butter.
Perhaps you think your hard-won faith
    is fragile as a fraud,
but you don’t know the strength of grace,
and the deep pure love of God.
A little bit is all you need,
    smaller than a mustard-seed.

  2. “Again and again He stands firm on his promises.” I love the image of God standing firm, never wavering no matter what is happening in our world. What a comfort!
