Standing in the corner, trying hard to become one with the wall is how I often feel in multiple settings. Afraid to share life because it takes a lot of work. Some make it look so easy with their perfected hair, trendy clothing, and adept knowledge of timely matters. Their laughter drowns out any doubts… Read More Meant to Share

Hello and welcome! My name is Maryann Lorts and I am a daughter of the One True King. I need to remind myself of this truth every day. I get out of bed and wake to a tired world and see a need to be a light. My calling may be small among many, but by God’s will, I will run the race that He has placed before me and finish well.

Coming to Light
Christian, are you living a life that your label d Christian, are you living a life that your label dictates? Most people who state a belief in the Lord are not. Why is that? Has culture become the standard? Is popularity more important? Does fear over-ride your heart? Are lies holding you back? Do feelings drive you? All of these things lead away from truth, hence away from Christ. The true church is shrinking in these days of evil. Christian, time to read your Bible, time to pray, time to repent and time to witness to the truth of the Gospel, the REAL truth. If Christ lives in you, you can't act counter to Him. You must live counter-culture.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 NIV

His grace is sufficient. Now it's time to live for His grace is sufficient. Now it's time to live for Him despite all that scares you or holds you back. Fight for truth despite physical setbacks. Stand for truth.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV
A verse that is often used to encourage and build A verse that is often used to encourage and build our faith over vain perceptions is really calling us out. It's not to make us feel good, but to drive us into repentance and convict those to trust the Lord all the more through sanctification.
We strive for perfection, yet we will all fail until we meet our glorified bodies. We are sinners no matter how much we reflect the Proverbs 31 woman. The Lord will help us, He will meet us where we are and guide us upstream. In repentance and communion, the Lord loves us and gives us endurance despite our weaknesses. We can look at these verses and seek out how God wants us to apply them to our lives and then ask for His loving help. He leaves none of us behind, it's us and our stubborn ways who get caught up dragging our feet. Let's look at sanctification as a beautiful gift and not a punishment. That way the beauty of Proverbs will ultimately guide us in the Lord's will.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
Proverbs 31:30-31

Real talk, Christian. Let's discuss... When I wen Real talk, Christian. Let's discuss...

When I went on mission to Belgium, we talked a lot about how faith in Christ was growing in Asia. The Phillipines had huge growth in the Church and missionaries were finding home throughout the Asian nations. As faith was sweeping across the continent, people spoke about how the church shrunk in Europe. The Evangelical church in most countries was less than 10% while Agnostics, Muslims, and Atheists grew in numbers. America seemed stable, but there was talk about a coming surge in faith across Europe and a dramatic drop in America. American preachers several years ago spoke about a downward trend in God-fearing people before a revival of faith. People scoffed at him and I scratched my head as I thought through what my European friends were saying. I believed all of it as I saw the light of hope in their eyes as they planned outreach events and praised Jesus in their small church. I became angry upon my return to the states. Americans had no idea what was to come and the church was too focused on feelings, being ill-equipped for a pandemic, liberal take-overs, and wokeism. The wave is here, and the negative thoughts the European missionaries had about the American Church ring true. Our missionaries need to hit the pavement in their own streets and to stop tip-toeing around their politically correct, lef.t-wing neighbors. We are so lukewarm that we're teetering on the deep end of the coldside. No wonder faith in God is so low in our country. Respect for life and Christian liberty is no longer taught by parents, school, or church. Wake up, American Christian. It's time to move!
