Welcome to Coming to Light: Bible Study, Devotional Reading, and Christian Living

Here I am, doing the best I can to live out my calling according to God's will by setting an example for my children and community. As a child of God, I am called to a place that goes beyond societal norms that often feels uncomfortable, even among what social Christians may be willing to accept. Please be encouraged to follow the Lord first and then seek community with like-minded followers who want to edify the Lord and the church to build the Kingdom according to His will and for His glory. And in that, find joy, my friends. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Thank you Lord, for Your faithfulness to Your Word and Your conviction living inside of me, despite all of the onslaught of the world...

A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice;

Is anyone??? 🙋‍♀️Yeah, it's me...I'm the Is anyone???
🙋‍♀️Yeah, it's me...I'm the anyone...
I'm depleted. I'm burnt out. I'm down. I'm depressed. I'm angry. I'm tired. I'm attacked. I'm confused. I'm hurt. I'm done. 
I feel prayed out. I'm to the point where I think God doesn't hear me or He doesn't care for my voice, so the refinement or sanctification I thought I was in is just Him not caring. This is me being honest.  I need someone who the Lord listens to to pray for me, for my husband, for my children,  for my home, just pray...
As women living in today's culture, we need to ref As women living in today's culture, we need to reflect upon what kind of example we are setting for our daughters. Are we doing things that are edifying... for our faith, for our families, for our communities, for ourselves? Are we wearing modest clothing? Are we listening to edifying music? Are we saying positive words? Or...are we being destructive? Destructive in our lack of faith commitments? Destructive in our appearances? Destructive in the words going into our heads and out of our mouths via songs or social media apps? Are we allowing our children to self-destruct via blue screens and pornographic language in their reels? Do we slander, and is it in front of the next generation who copies us? 
Elizabeth Elliot once said,
“The way we live ought to manifest the truth of what we believe. A messy life speaks of a messy and incoherent faith.”
It's time to take a hard look at ourselves in the mirror and see our daughters staring back at us.  As a Christian, the Spirit should convict you of your next step. If you're not convicted, maybe it's time that you need to start praying.
