What is that pivotal moment of truth?
Is it when you realized Jesus was calling you or when you admitted to being a sinner? Was it birthing a child, and then another and another? Was it a season of break through or depression that moved you? What has brought you to this moment? What has propelled you here? What is it that truly defines you?
Maybe we aren’t suppose to have a climaxed point in our lives until we hit Heaven’s door. The season we are in right now is what we can truly use to glorify Him. Right now. No looking back.
Instead of looking for that exact instant of our ah-ha, why don’t we stop and breathe, take it all in and see that it is nothing that we have ever done that changed us, changed life. That defining moment happened long before any of came along at a rugged cross on a hill.
Jesus is that pivotal moment.
John 19:28-30 NIV
Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit,
As Jesus gave up His spirit, our own spirits were set free from all the bondage held to sin and the law.
He came to give us life, hence changing us, changing humanity for eternity. Our moments count only for a little while. His moment counts forever.
We may have big moments that do move us towards that forever point when we accept that Jesus was always there in our hearts waiting for us to recognize His truth and goodness. When our hearts and heads come into sync with the Lord’s faithfulness to us, we are defining our lives and are set into motion. Our next steps will be in faith. What we do next does count for our eternity, and we can lead others to the truth, but it’s not by our own will. It’s by His.
Now we move. Keep going. Share the truth and love of the Lord. When people don’t get it or fight against you, don’t stop. When the Lord gave up His life for ours, we can give up our time for Him. He will be with us always. Now we move. Keep going. Share the truth and love of the Lord. When people don't get it or fight against you, don't stop. Click To Tweet
