Through Our Father’s Eyes

Pictures can only see the physical properties of your body.

The wrinkles, and extra weight shine through a photograph that your eyes discern as flaws and misconstrued ideals.

Beauty seems to be fleeting in your mind’s eye, yet God’s thoughts are so much higher than our own. He can see the inner workings of our souls. He can hear our thoughts and knows our inner aches, struggles and deep longings. Despite all that, He has created in a beauty beyond comprehension.

No picture can truly show what God can see, or understand what He knows about us.

You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.

Psalm 139:2-4 ESV

From the moment of conception, the Lord knew our highs and lows. He knew where we would find ourselves over time and would give us opportunities for faith and growth.

As we fall victim over and over again into our sinful, prideful hearts, God keeps on loving and restoring His children.

He has restored us from our broken souls on outward.

Whoever has said that a friend who knows all about you and loves you anyway is a friend indeed, must have known Jesus. He never fails and is quite the friend to have died in our place. What an amazing love that we have despite what our photographs or inner workings portray.

He sees us through the eyes of delight, loving His creation enough to sacrifice so much for us.

We need to remember to thank the Lord for making us precious in His sight. No other could love us the way that He does. Try as we might, only He can fill our inner-most longings. He has made us, fearfully and wonderfully.
