There are times when we search to find the words that describe our life stages, seasons, or day to day humdrum.
Words are fleeting from our thought lives and we wring our hands trying to place a label upon the circumstance we stand in.
This is when we go back to our forefathers in faith and seek their wisdom. They have lived through difficulties, served in different capacities, and looked through a different cultural lens than we, yet see the cycles of life as nothing new under the sun. Life is just wearing a different wardrobe.
Look no further than what we would deem the classics. We can stand to learn quite a bit from this faithful men and women who no doubt faced persecutions, scoffing family members, and push-back from society similar to us. Their string of faith and Spirit led writings can encourage and prod us towards a deeper faith walk, prayer life, and evangelistic stance in our modern world.
