Light drives out darkness.
Shadows on street corners run away from the sunrise. Slithering creatures crawl into the depths upon dawn. Criminals cover themselves in innocence in the light of day. Corrupt people show up to charity in hopes of lightening their lies through money and photo opportunities.
Kissing babies, building bridges and helping hands only go so far when we fall back into the shade of misrepresented attitudes and faith. When do we move beyond the facades that people want to see and truly seek out the better way, the right way, the way that is bright and without doubts?
In the beginning, God created. He created heavens, earth, light, dark, waters, lands, and creatures big and small. Elohim, our strong creator Triune God, saw that is was all good.
When Jesus came to earth, God born a man, He became the light of man. Light nullifies darkness, be it spiritual or physical.
We have fallen so far. There is hope.
Through Jesus, all things were created. He was there when the light was created. Because of his creation, He has become the ultimate light which creates a path of righteousness for us to follow. With his fullness with the Father and through his perfect sacrifice as a man, we can be in his light forever. We can share and spread this light through our calling from the Lord.
In him was life, and that life was the light of men. That light shines in the darkness, and yet the darkness did not overcome it. John 1:4-5
The light of the world poured out himself for us. We can do our best to shine a light for him through our own lives. We can recover from our sins and shady pasts. There is never a time that we are too far gone from the grace and mercy given at the cross.
We can change and give hope to others because His Spirit lives within us. May our lights point to truth, to Jesus, our strong Creator and Savior.
For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20

I really like this article a lot. As Christ followers we are the light of the world and what we do and saw can bring others to Christ.
I love the fact that we are light, and when we shine Jesus to those around us, they see that light.
