This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
The joy of the Lord will be my strength! Yes, right on!
We struggle, daily, but we can have joy in the Lord despite pain, self-doubt, frustration, anger, antagonism, and the list goes on. Joy doesn’t just come in the mornings and afresh with dew. Joy is for all day, every day and in spite of any circumstance.
We have two choices here: we can choose to complain and wallow in our pity and show contempt for the circumstances we live in, or we can choose joy and be a living example of what a merciful God can do in the lives of His children.
We can’t stop believing in the goodness of our God. Jesus made things right with our Father once and for all. We can find contentment because Jesus fills our hearts.
When we wake tired and frustrated, not looking forward to a new day, we know that He is there. He is pulling the covers off, nudging us off our pillows. The Lord prepares us for the world as we prepare our morning brews. He warms our souls as we warm our bodies. It’s time to rise and to shine because He has given us a new day. He is by our sides as we walk the path He has laid out before us, the one He planned for us to take.
But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. 1 Timothy 6:6
Let us find that contentment and turn it into joy. It is the joy in that the Lord is our strength, and He is there through each step of our day.
Very good reminder on contentment! I love this! Will be sharing with my friends on Twitter! Thank you!
