It Is Well

Troubling times are more than just on the horizon, they are here.

We see all over the news, the internet and out our back doors that we are on a downslide in society. We see thoughts on the sanctity of life as backwards, Biblical truths twisted, and definitions of right all skewed. It’s hurting our present, and is detrimental to our futures. We are allowing a Godless generation take us into a Utopian society that isn’t so idealistic.

How will we survive through the persecution, the scoffing and the pain of what we feel is a loss of a faithful grip on the masses? We try to hang on to the truths that have moved our forefathers and patriarchs. Will it be enough as the world advances while we live in the so-called archaic days of what our Lord says is the right way?

Grieving over these days and the lost hurts us. We want the scales to come off of their hearts and eyes, but instead they hate us in the name of bigotry. They look at some of us and lump us in with false teachers which only appears as confusion and a further downfall. The world is upside down no matter how much we try to right it all.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 ESV

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

But in all the chaos that we perceive, it is well with our souls when we place our lives at the feet of Jesus. He came to save us from all the world’s strife. He sanctifies us completely and keeps yus upright when the world tries to pressure us into the darkness.

Psalm 23:3 ESV

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

We can be well: body, spirit, and soul. When we keep our mind on the Lord and remember His promises despite our worldly circumstances, He will hold us up and keep us going for His will is greater than the will of the world.

But in all the chaos that we perceive, it is well with our souls when we place our lives at the feet of Jesus Share on X

We can hold on to the truth in The Word, the conviction of the Spirit, and the promises of the Lord… and as He sings over us, we can sing back that all is well with our souls because we have hope in Him.

  1. Thanks for sharing your post on Grace & Truth this week. It’s easy to become discouraged when we see the decline of values and morals in our world today. But keeping our eyes on Jesus offers wonderful hope.

Something to keep in mind for the future – we love featuring posts every week, but our policy is that there is a link back to one of us hosts. I just thought I’d mention that in case you were interested in a feature at some point;)

  2. “It is well with my soul.: I needed that this morning. I know it but I need to be reminded every once in awhile. Thank you for joining us over on Grace & Truth Link-Up. I look forward to reading more posts.

  3. Thanks for sharing this encouragement that indeed in Christ Jesus it is well with our souls no matter what is going on without.

  4. Amen Maryann! Tops turvy, upside down, and spinning out of control! It is so easy to get discouraged and even scared but you’ve reminded us to put our feelings and thoughts at the feet of Jesus! That’s exactly where we need to be! Thank you!
