This fallen world is ill-focused.
We shed light on what is important to the lustful darkness over the truth of what eternity looks like for our souls.
Our lives should reflect what is important to our worldview, not to the twisted version of popularity inside that view.
So, then, what is important to us, Christian? Are we looking at fighting for the faith, fighting for politics, fighting for education, or fighting for likes and comfort? Only one of these fights truly matter and reflect what faith-living is all about. We fall into the trap of comfort which truly highlights the depth of one’s heart. It’s like not taming the tongue which reflects in the inside ideas of the mind. Treading through comfort spotlights intents over what we should be called to as a follower of Christ.
We should be comforted in the Lord as we wade through trials and service. We should rest under His protection as we swim against the stream of culture and their demands. Truth should be worn as a badge of courage as we speak Christ over the ill-fated nonsense of this age.
Why are so many people of faith falling victim to the lies of man perpetuated by the father of darkness? They don’t rest in the importance of our True Father’s shelter. They lost sight of His sufficient grace and protection. The culture is taking too many down with it because they choose not to walk the hard road.
This is where we need to focus: The Lord is our refuge, our strength, and our focus. There should be nothing else that guides us.
Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
The most important thing…rest in the Word of God knowing that it is the only truth.
Now we must beg the question: Where is your focus? What you set your eyes, hearts and words on is important and a reflection of your heart. If you have been caught up in the net of cultural seduction, it is time to take a hard look at your life through the lens of God’s Word in context. We all do.
The most important thing…rest in the Word of God knowing that it is the only truth. It brings life and freedom from the chains of civilization and sin.
The world’s gone down the pagan road,
hand-basket straight to hell,
and they’d use it as a goad,
the things they say they’ll tell
about what I have said and done,
things that I must rue,
even if it’s clear that none
are remotely true.
And thus I plan to worry not
’bout what’s ascribed to me,
for in the end what I have got
is Eternity
right behind that golden door
with a God who knows the score.
Oh! How God knew I needed to read this today. I have been floundering these past couple of days for outside influences have overwhelmed me. May I refocus and remember. Praising God for His perfect providence.
I think we all need to adjust and refocus at times.
May your faith be strengthened and 2022 be a year of abundant blessing.
