The Voice That Calls Us to the Light

A voice calls out.

It fights against the tide. Society tries to drown it out. The darkness tries to overcome it.

That voice takes action as it calls us to come alive. Our dry bones that keep us tied to our human ways tremble at its breathe. The lies of the world try to set barriers against it.

The world easily welcomes all with a facade of unity and toleration. It hates the light because it calls out the falsehood of the darkened ideologies that follow. Shining a light on the hidden truths behind the screens, the gossip, and the deception of inclusion causes a trembling to seek out truth.

Crave the light for it shines upon those who will not fall victim to the subterfuge of the darkness. Light illuminates truth bearers and loves through distortion of the enemy.

When we’re fighting against the shadows, we need to remember who is calling to us. Discern the voice that wants to tear down and that of divine majesty. Look for the truth in the words and deeds of those who beckon you to the world.

Hebrews 4:12 ESV

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

The true voice calls us for more than our human ways can appreciate. Keep going, keep learning, keep loving, and keep working for the things that the Lord calls you to. Know that you, as a child of God, are set a part. The truth of the Gospel sets you free. You are not ran by the world for you are not of it. You are more and belong to the kingdom of the Lord.

1 John 2:15-17

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

Only settle for light. Darkness runs in the shadows. It loses out every time it hides. Strive for the truth in the voice that calls.

  1. While I agree that we need to always yearn towards the Light, your comment on inclusion confuses me. Isn’t the kingdom of God all-inclusive? Everyone is wanted and God loves all of us? Our job is to love, and let God do the judging.

    1. This is in reference to worldliness. Being included into worldly ideas, etc.

  2. Love this Biblical reminder! Thank you!
