My Favorite Things: a shopping list

With Christmas shopping at our heels, it’s time to start compiling that wish list.

I often struggle to come up with some things to hand to my husband and children. I would like to think that they know me well enough to be creative on their own. With all best intentions, they get about halfway there.  I love the creative minds of my children and the love that my family pours into gift giving. They just sometimes like to know if I am longing for that one special item that I haven’t made known to them. I very much appreciate this sentiment.

Here I would like to share with you a few of my favorite things that are on my wish list, or that have been gifted to me over this year that I have truly enjoyed.

Flourish: Live Free, Live Loved by Margaret Feinberg. This is a great weekly devotional for the entire year. There is devotional content and a coloring page every four days.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this 30 day devotional by Paige Tate called Wholehearted: A Coloring Book Devotional, Premium Edition. You receive 30 days of devotional content with coloring and journaling pages every other day.

This is a great study called The Power of God’s Names by Dr. Tony Evans.  The children’s version makes a good stocking stuffer for older children or young teens.

This leather Traveler’s Journal with extra inserts has been a great place to journal and illustrate through Scripture. It makes a great keepsake.

Do you use essential oils? I love this case that I found under the tree last year. It fits all of my oils and several roller bottles. We call it my medicine cabinet.

These are my favorite journaling pens. They don’t bleed through most paper and you can use them to color in the fine lines in your intricate coloring books.

Some heavier reading, but a great addition to your home library.  Martin Luther: The Man Who Rediscovered God and Changed the World by Eric Metaxas.

Anything by Erik Larson is pretty awesome, but this Chicago native really appreciates this historical take on H. H. Holmes and the Chicago Worlds’ Fair.  Devil in the White City.

I always enjoy a good and straight-forward Bible study. John MacArthur does just that in his study of Romans.

Looking for a new planner and love Illustrate Faith? Look no further. They have just what you need. I love this planner.

We have an extensive playlist at my house and this is our newest addition. We really enjoy listening to Jeremy Camp.

Don’t forget that Christmas playlist! We can’t say enough about Sidewalk Prophets. Check out this album.

Do you have a favorite sport team? #GOCUBSGO we sing in our house!

I hope you find something wonderful for yourself or a loved one. However, I ultimately pray that the love of Christ and the Advent of His coming fills your season with hope and joy that carries you through all the days of your life.

Isaiah 52: 7 NIV How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
