Winter is gone yet there’s a chill in the air.
So much turmoil has come to us as a people. We are stuck inside of fights of right verses wrong. People stand for truth but falter in the face of ease, popularity and excuses. Those who stand firm have heaps of spewed hatred piled upon them because they are the ones who look like they allow for no mercy and deal out only injustice.
We stand in a place that seems to keep us planted, but the defeat that’s nipping at our heals is dragging some of us down. We allow the wrong side to keep stomping on our heads until we sacrifice our defiance to cultural ideologies. Some give in, some hide, and some are quiet. We are no better than those who stand on the side of wrong if we keep our heads in the sand.
But the Lord promises so much, that we keep hoping that this era will end soon and that He returns in full force to bring us mercy before we fall on our faces. His promises should hold us as we shiver in the cold winds of ridicule and antagonism.
The thoughts that may keep us afloat is that the wrong side throws out straw men everywhere along their trek. Because they are blinded to truth, they set themselves up all sorts of false apologetics. Straw men burn fast while we try to hold steady.
John 14:27 ESV
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Peace in this eternal winter can and will see us through. We can have peace if we truly hold on to the truth of God’s Word. We can’t allow these lies to rule us. Seeking God’s will even for our thoughts is so important when we are blasted on every side by media, friends, family, educators and everything else in between. Hold steady, Friends. We we need to grab on to our Lord tighter than ever in these strange days.
James 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
Christian, stand firm despite the perpetual winter at hand. Do not let the gusty winds of of the public tide sweep you away to the piling of angsty thoughts. Keep planted in the Word, stand for truth, and seek the Lord’s peace in all things.

So thankful that we can have peace even amidst the storms, because our peace comes from Jesus. Blessings to you!
I can often be a “quiet ostrich”. Thank you for reminding me that’s not the way to be. Standing firm is where I want to be!
James 1:12 – yet one more of His promises. One to cling to when we feel tired, defeated or as if the tide is begining to pull us along. Endure. Stand strong because the promise of His reward is true. Isn’t that wonderful?! Thanks for the encouragement today!
Good afternoon, Mary Ann, thank you for bring us back to center. Lies are sneaky and as you say, nip at our heels as we think we are standing firm. May God continue to bless your pen. In Christ, Julie
Fighting the winter, knowing that spring will come. FMF25
Peace may well be coming
but for now I’m in a war
so brutal that it’s numbing;
I hold Ps. 144.
There are days I can’t endure
the battering and the spears
and though I try, to be sure
my courage is in arrears.
But brave or not, I’m standing here
and heck no, I won’t kneel.
When I fall, and the foe is near
my teeth shall rend his heel.
I guess when I hear my clock run out
I’ll know what it was all about.
indeed, we must stay steadfast! visiting FMF reader #3
